ROCK SPRINGS — The Sweetwater County 50501 Chapter will host an early voting awareness event Saturday at the corner of Dewar Drive and Gateway Boulevard.

According to the organization, the event will encourage people to vote early, with local organizers on hand to direct attendees to websites that can check their voter registration status. The event will also encourage people to make a plan to vote and help friends make their plans.

Early voting started Oct. 6, and residents can vote at the Sweetwater County Courthouse from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 2. The General Election takes place Nov. 3.

Attendees are encouraged to bring unexpired, non-perishable food to be delivered to the Food Bank of Sweetwater County, as well as a picnic lunch and friends.

The group says the event in Rock Springs will be one of many “No Kings: Vote Early” events taking place throughout the country.
