WYOMING — The state legislature will consider a bill allowing homebrewers to showcase their beers at brewfests throughout Wyoming.
Homebrewing was made legal in all 50 states in 2013. However, certain states’ statutes prevented homebrewers from removing homebrewed beer from their houses. In Wyoming, one of those restrictions was the ability for homebrewers to participate in festivals and competitions.
Dave Kinskey, Republican senator of Sheridan, is the primary sponsor of Senate File 62 that calls for an end to prohibition of homebrews from brewfests in Wyoming. If passed, this bill would not only allow homebrewers to showcase their beverages at brewfests, but also to enter their brews in competitions.
