Ilan “Mickie” Michele Long of Rock Springs, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the age of 80.
She was born on April 30, 1946, in Newport News, Virginia, to her loving parents, William Francis Logsdon and Norma May Logsdon.
Mickie spent her early years in Hampton, Virginia, where she attended local schools and graduated from Hampton High School in 1964. She then pursued her passion for beauty and arts by earning a cosmetology certificate in California. A devoted homemaker, Mickie masterfully blended her love for the arts with caring for her family. She was known for her skills in tole painting, seamstressing, and calligraphy, and delighted in crafting Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren.
She married Edward Dean Long June 26, 1964 in Hampton, Virgina.
Survivors include her husband Edward Dean Long of Rock Springs; two sons, Dean Edward Long and wife Michele of Rock Springs; Russell Taylor Long and wife Stacy of Tucson, Arizona; three brothers, Wendell Blake Goodwin and wife Sherri of Cary, North Carolina; Treb Charles Faulkner of Erwin, Tennessee; Donald Reed Goodwin and wife Kathi of Yorktown,Virginia; one sister, Idelle Mina Hamilton of Summerville, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Nicholas Long; Justin Long; Kaitlyn Long; Brenden Long and several cousins; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Logsdon; mother, Norma Faulkner and one brother Zeb Walker Goodwin.
Cremation will take place; no services will be conducted per her wishes.
