FARSON — Farson-Eden will close out its football season Saturday against one of the top teams in Class 1A-6 Man South while the Lady Pronghorns prepare for three conference volleyball matches over the weekend.
The Farson-Eden volleyball team will open its schedule Friday against No. 3 Cokeville at 5 p.m. in Farson. The Lady Pronghorns will then travel Saturday for a pair of conference matches, facing Arapaho Charter at 11 a.m. and St. Stephens at 1 p.m.
On the football field, Farson-Eden will travel to face No. 3 Little Snake River at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Pronghorns’ final game of the season.
Farson-Eden has been eliminated from playoff contention, marking the first time the program has missed the postseason since under Ryan Lay, who took over in 2022. The Pronghorns will look to finish the season on a positive note against Little Snake River before turning their attention to next year.
The Class 1A-6 Man South playoff field is set, with Casper Christian earning the No. 1 seed, Little Snake River taking the No. 2 seed, Encampment securing the No. 3 seed and H.E.M. claiming the No. 4 seed. Farson-Eden, Dubois and Guernsey-Sunrise have been eliminated.
Even if Encampment and H.E.M. lose in Week 8 and Farson-Eden wins, the Pronghorns cannot move into the playoff field because both teams hold head-to-head tiebreakers over Farson-Eden.
Farson-Eden will now look to build toward next season, when the program will pursue its first playoff victory since its 2020 championship season.
