Western President Kirk Young welcomed students during an opening presentation in the College’s theatre, encouraging them to approach their educational journeys with curiosity and an openness to new experiences.

“Some of the best things people have learned through college are unplanned,” Young said. He also invited them to picture themselves as future Western students, saying, “We here at Western would consider ourselves very lucky if you choose to be a Mustang.”

Throughout the day, students met with industry professionals, attended presentations, and explored Western’s academic and technical programs. Students learned about careers in welding, industrial maintenance, plant operations, electrical and instrumentation technology, engineering, and other technical fields, while discovering the college’s broader academic offerings and educational pathways.
