ROCK SPRINGS – A-league baseball teams will converge in Cody and in Rock Springs, to determine which teams will move on to the state tournament in Laramie.
It’s not quite a double-elimination format. If a team loses once, they are still alive, but they can’t play for one of the top 2 seeds. The best they do is 3rd or 4th.
Win the first 2 games, and a team is guaranteed one of the top 2 seeds. Lose the first 2 games, and a team is done for the year. All games are 9-inning contests.
Rock Springs Archie Hay Post 24 will get things started on Thursday as they will face the top team from the Southeast, Torrington Tigers at 9 a.m. at the Paul J. Wataha complex. The Green River Knights earned the top seed in the Southwest Division. The Knights will play their opening round game at 7 p.m. against Guernsey, the fourth seed in the Southeast.
