ROCK SPRINGS — Aspen Mountain Medical Center is expanding its orthopedic services after recently hiring Dr. Roger E. Murken.

Dr. Murken is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery. The medical center says he brings specialized foot and ankle care to Rock Springs and gives patients in southwest Wyoming another opportunity for advanced orthopedic care. 

“We’re excited to welcome Dr. Murken and expand the orthopedic resources available here at Aspen,” Kelli Yancey, Interim CEO of Aspen Mountain, said. “His specialized training in foot and ankle surgery complements the excellent care already provided by our orthopedic surgeons and podiatrists.”

Dr. Murken specializes in diagnosing and treating common and complex foot and ankle conditions. His surgical expertise includes total ankle replacement, traumatic fractures, complex reconstruction for advanced foot and ankle injuries, among other procedures.

“My goal is to bring specialized, high-quality foot and ankle care so that an injury, a condition, or chronic pain doesn’t keep you from doing the things you enjoy,” he said.

Dr. Murken will start seeing patients at the Aspen Mountain Medical Clinic on Oct. 16.
