SWEETWATER COUNTY – The Sweetwater County Library System is excited to announce that bestselling author Shannon Hale will be visiting Sweetwater County on March 4.
Hale is the multiple-award winning author of young adult books such as The Goose Girl, Ever After High and Book of a Thousand Days. Her book Princess Academy won a Newberry Honor.
Hale will speak at White Mountain Library, 2935 Sweetwater Drive in Rock Springs, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4. She will talk about writing and writing inspiration.
Hale started writing books as a child. She eventually earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Utah and a Master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Montana. Her first book, The Goose Girl, was published in 2003. Besides many young adult books, Hale has also written a few books for adults, including Austenland and The Actor and the Housewife. Along with her husband, Dean, Hale has also written graphic novels and a children’s book, Princess in Black.
Hale and her husband live in near Salt Lake City with their four children.
“We are excited to have Shannon visit us in Sweetwater County,” said library public relations specialist Lindsey Travis. “She’s a fun and engaging speaker.”
Hale’s Sweetwater County visit is part of her latest book tour. Her new book, Princess Academy: The Forgotten Sisters, comes out on March 3. Copies of her new book and other Shannon Hale books will be available at the March 4 event at White Mountain Library.
