KEMMERER, Wyo. — Third District Court Judge Joseph Bluemel of Evanston has denied a request by Sweetwater County Attorney Dan Erramouspe to have Judge Suzannah Robinson removed from a case involving the sexual exploitation of children.
Erramouspe and Deputy County Attorney Micaela Lira argued their position in front of Bluemel during a hearing on September 14, stating that Robinson was essentially telling the county attorney’s office how to charge the case.
The case involves Joshua Ekstrom who was arrested in March and charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of children, specifically possession of child pornography.
During the hearing last month, Erramouspe argued that a separation of power was violated when Robinson rejected a plea agreement between the parties and reportedly told Lira that Ekstrom should neither serve jail time nor register as a sex offender.
Bluemel took the argument under advisement for several weeks, and issued an order on Monday to deny Erramouspe’s motion to recuse Robinson in the case.
