SERVICES SET — Boyd Porter, 74 of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his home. He was born on March 6, 1942 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the son of Jesse G. Porter and Maurine W. Cole Porter.

Cremation has taken place and military honors and inurnment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.

ROCK SPRINGS — Boyd Grant Porter, 74, of Rock Springs passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

He was born March 6, 1942, in Rock Springs, the son of Jesse Grantier Porter and Maurine W. Cole Porter. He was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Viet Nam War.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was also a member of the VFW, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #151, and Elk’s Lodge No. 624 in Rock Springs.

Boyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, panning for gold, camping, and spending time in the outdoors with his family.

Survivors include his sons Lonn and Lance Porter both of Rock Springs, and Larry Porter of St. George, Utah; daughter Lucretia Porter and companion Stuart Merritt of Rock Springs; previous wife Judy Porter of Rock Springs; brothers Dennis, Don and Doug Porter all of Rock Springs; sisters Kimberly Atwell and husband Larry and Christine Reay and husband John all of Rock Springs, and Joleen Porter of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren Ashley, Larissa, Stevie Lynn, Larry J., Jaxon, Nickolas, Katrina, Nicole, Corrina, Faith, Dallas, and Erica; several great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Grant and Maurine Porter, son Lynn Porter, daughter Lanette Porter, and brother Maurice Earl Porter.

Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 151, 211 B Street, Rock Springs. A potluck dinner will be served.

Inurnment will take place at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
