ROCK SPRINGS — $10,000 donated by BP will go a long way in covering the cost of attending Teton Science Camp this year. The donation was put into motion by Daniel Moreno, Production Manager for BP Oil, who attended an assembly for his Child at Northpark regarding the Teton Science camp in Jackson Hole, WY.
He listened to the need simply as a parent and then shared it with his employer. “I didn’t anticipate the amount to be as large as it was, but BP Oil values Education and assisting with local support,” Daniel Moreno said. Every year Northpark takes their entire 4th grade to the science camp relying on funding through donations, a BOCES Grant and various fundraisers according to 4th grade teacher Lorna Bath.To fund all students to attend the camp requires roughly $16,000 dollars.
Kelly Mcgovern, Superintendent and former North Park Principal stated, “ Teton Science School is a great opportunity for students to experience hands-on learning aligned with content standards. A special thank you to BP Oil in their generous donation to Northpark Elementary.”
