Braxton Cordova Claims Second Diving Title, Wolves Finish Fourth at State Championships

GILLETTE — Green River High School swimming and diving traveled to Gillette for the 3A state championships.

The Wolves competed against 12 other teams, finishing fourth with a total 103 team points.

Braxton Cordova led the way for the diving team, winning the state title with 447.40 points. The win was Cordova’s second state title victory. Teammates Kyle Knight and River Kirts took second and third respectively.

Among the other top performers in green and black were Brady Young who saw a second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle and third place in the 200-yard freestyle.

As for the relay teams, the Wolves finished eighth in both the 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay. In the final event, Green River took ninth in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
