GREEN RIVER – Just in time for Halloween, the Sweetwater County Library is hosting a paranormal investigation of the “haunted” library. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, October 1 at 9 a.m. at the Green River library for the Ghost Walk on Saturday, October 26.
“Ghost Walkers” will tour the library in the dark with flashlights on Saturday, October 26 during their time slot. At certain places in the library, tour guides will tell people about different paranormal experiences that have been reported and recorded in the ghost log.
The ghost log is a collection of reports documenting unexplained events in the library since 1993. It is available to the public for use in the library during regular hours. The staff reports that every year something happens during the tours either great or small. Sometimes it’s a dramatic, unexplained event.
Patrons must be at least 15 years old and purchase tickets in person from the Sweetwater County Library. Admission to the Ghost Walk is $10 with proceeds benefiting the Sweetwater County Library Foundation. Four tours will be offered starting at 8 p.m.; 9:30 p.m.; 11 p.m.; and 12:30 a.m. No refunds will be given and tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis.
“As an added bonus this year, we are exhibiting our ghost pictures in the gallery at the Sweetwater County Library until the end of October. Majority of the pictures were taken by people who went on one of the Ghost Walks. We encourage people to stop by to view the pictures to decide for themselves if they believe there is anything paranormal about the images,” Brittany Wells Public Relations Specialist said. “The gallery is free and open during regular library hours.”
