GREEN RIVER – Looking for a paranormal experience this fall? If so, consider going on a Ghost Walk at the Sweetwater County Library.
Tickets for the library’s fall Ghost Walks will go on sale starting at 9 a.m. Monday, October 5. Tickets, which are $5 each, can be purchased by dropping by the library at 300 N. 1st East in Green River, or by calling 307-875-3615 and paying with a debit or credit card.
“Make sure to arrive early,” said Reference Librarian Micki Gilmore, who helps lead the Ghost Walks. “The tickets always go fast.”
The Ghost Walks will be on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 9 and 11 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and patrons must be at least 15 years old to attend. This year, the library will also be selling Ghost Walk T-shirts, which will go on sale on Oct. 5 as well. Any proceeds made from the T-shirts will go to the Sweetwater County Library Foundation.
Not long after the library was built in 1980, people started reporting paranormal experiences in and around the building. In the 1990s, staff members at the library started keeping a log of reported ghost experiences, and the log continues to grow to this day.
During the Ghost Walks, those in attendance will tour the library in the dark with flashlights and ghost hunting equipment. The library’s ghost experts will guide the tour through the library and talk about paranormal experiences reported and recorded in the library’s ghost log.
