SWEETWATER COUNTY — Both the Cities of Rock Springs and Green River will have firework displays on Sunday to celebrate the Fourth of July.
The fireworks are scheduled to be set off at around 10 p.m. in both cities.
The Sweetwater Events Complex is hosting the Independence Day fireworks celebration for Rock Springs. Several groups, both public and private, have come together to ensure that the public will get to celebrate with a dazzling display of pyrotechnics.
The fireworks will be launched from the east side of the Sweetwater Events Complex property
and visible from many locations throughout the city. WyoRadio will play music synchronized with the show.
As for Green River, residents can gather at Veterans Field, Stratton Meyers Park, and other areas around the city to catch the show. KUGR Radio will also once again play music to match the fireworks display. KUGR can be found at 104.9 FM and 1490 AM. KUGR is also streamed at theradionetwork.net.
Local fire agencies reminded residents last week that most fireworks are prohibited within city limits, and are only allowed on private land with landowners’ permission within the county. They ask that residents obey the laws to prevent fires and injury.
Stay safe this Fourth of July!
