SWEETWATER COUNTY — Green River and Rock Springs tennis will return to the courts this week for a pair of busy competition days, with both programs traveling to Gillette on Thursday before hosting Jackson on Saturday.

Thursday will send both local teams to Gillette to face Campbell County and Thunder Basin.

Green River will play Campbell County at 8 a.m. before facing Thunder Basin at noon. Rock Springs will take on Thunder Basin at 8 a.m. and Campbell County at noon.

Green River opened the season with a strong showing at home, going 4-0 across its boys and girls duals against Cody and Powell. The Wolves’ girls defeated both opponents 4-1, while the boys also went 4-1 against Powell after earning a 3-2 victory over Cody.

Rock Springs dropped three of their four opening-weekend duals. The Tigers’ girls defeated Powell 3-2 after falling to Cody 3-2, while the boys lost both duals by 3-2 scores.

After Thursday’s matches in Gillette, both programs will return home Saturday.

Green River will host Jackson at 10 a.m., while Rock Springs will host Jackson at 1 p.m.
