ROCK SPRINGS — The Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies mobile pantry will once again visit Sweetwater County this week to hand out food to those in need.
According to Sweetwater County Emergency Management, the next drive-up mobile pantry visit is scheduled to take place Saturday, June 19, at the Sweetwater County Events Complex. Distribution will start at 1 p.m.
Anyone who needs food can receive it. There are no qualifications, membership fees, or eligibility forms to complete. The food is distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
Those who are picking up food are asked to make sure they have enough room in their vehicle for all of the food.
During the Rock Springs City Council meeting earlier this week, Rock Springs Police Chief Dwayne Pacheco said at the last mobile pantry event, the volunteers had to pack up left over food and distribute it to local food banks. He encouraged all of those in need of food to please come pick it up on Saturday so they don’t have to move to the food banks after the event.
