SWEETWATER COUNTY — According to the National Weather Service Office in Riverton, we can expect an area of low pressure passing to the south of Wyoming will bring high winds to much of Sweetwater County through this evening.

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a High Wind Warning, which is in effect from 10 am this morning to 10 pm this evening.

Winds will increase this morning and become strong around midday through this evening before decreasing later tonight. The forecast calls for Northeast winds increasing to 30-to-40 mph with gusts of up to 60 mph.

Strong cross winds may produce a blow over threat for trucks pulling trailers and for oversize vehicles including along Interstate 80. High winds may combine with snow late today and this evening to bring sharply reduced visibility at times in blowing snow.
