ROCK SPRINGS — Sweetwater County School District (SCSD) No. 1 is reporting 26 new COVID-19 positive cases during the sixth week of school. This is down 19 from last week’s report.
According to a message sent out on the ParentSquare app this afternoon from Human Resources Director Nicole Bolton, so far the district has seen a total of 181 students and 34 employees with known cases of the virus since the beginning of the school year.
“The District strongly encourages parents, students and staff to take the precautions they deem necessary for personal protection, including, staying home when sick, hand washing, masks, and vaccinations,” the message states. “With our current COVID numbers in our area, parents please keep your kids home if they have symptoms. We realize that not everything is COVID, however one or more of these symptoms may suggest an infectious illness and the student should not attend school regardless of whether the illness is COVID-19.”
