ROCK SPRINGS – A long season of practices, extra time on the court and conditioning come down to two important weekends. The Rock Springs Tigers tennis squad is heading into Regional weekend with a little momentum after a strong final home stand Saturday.
The South Regional matchups were recently announced. In No. 1 singles, John Prevedel will open with Central’s Chase Anderson. Anderson is one of the favorites this year and recently beat Prevedel in straight sets. In No. 2 singles, Tiger Kelby Kramer will take on Wyatt Ebben on Cheyenne South. Kramer is coming off a strong final weekend of regular season play.
In doubles, Rock Springs will be represented by Jake Rawson and Nathan Baldwin at the No. 1 spot. They are scheduled to take on Cheyenne East team they recently beat. The East team forfeited due to injury and will be a different team than last time out.
At the No. 2 spot, Fletcher Wadsworth and Cole Weidle are scheduled to face a team from Torrington while Deklyn Searle and Aaron Goldman will also face Torrington from the No. 3 position.
On the girl’s side, Lady Tiger Keeri Klein opens with Torrington’s Jade Palmer-Miller at the No. 1 spot. In No. 2 singles action, Maggie Justinak represents Rock Springs against East’s Lea Paidoussis. Justinak lost to Paidoussis in a three-set battle on Saturday, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4
In doubles, Lady Tigers Sasha Bentley and Alicia Stevens are scheduled to open with Central while Michelle Butterfield and Alyssa Vigil will take on Laramie. From the No. 3 spot, Amanda Borders and Courtney Smith are also scheduled to open with Laramie.
