ROCK SPRINGS — It may not have been the traditional graduation ceremony at Western Wyoming Community College tonight, but all appeared happy to be able to even have some sort of an in-person ceremony.
Physical distancing and face masks didn’t stop the semi-normal commencement ceremony from being special.
During the ceremony, Western’s Outstanding Graduates Carly Putnam of Rock Springs and Reese Fullmer of Star Valley spoke to the students about where they have been and where they are going.
The commencement address was given by former Western 2012 graduate Casey Terrell. He encouraged the graduates to be the person they want to be every day.
Terrell said he knows things may not always go smoothly and sometimes it may seem liked they’ve stopped moving, but don’t let that stop them from keep moving forward.
Not only were diplomas handed out, but certificates as well.
Congratulations to the class of 2021!
