SUPERIOR — Sweetwater County detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in Superior last week in connection with a Fremont County burglary investigation.
Sheriff Mike Lowell said the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent series of burglaries in the Hudson, Crowheart, and Dubois areas. Items stolen included firearms, saddles, and elk, deer, moose, and caribou antlers.
Fremont County authorities have already recovered some of the stolen goods and have two suspects in custody.
Justin Ryan Chewning and Justin Everett Belcher, both Fremont County residents, are jailed in Lander, charged with Wrongful Taking or Disposing of Stolen Property. Their bond has been set at $50,000 each.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Detective Dick Blust declined to describe the results of the search, citing the ongoing investigation.
