ROCK SPRINGS – It’s already that time of year again. Tree of Sharing is now taking applications for families in need of Christmas. For over 30 years, Volunteer Information Referral Service has planned and coordinated the Tree of Sharing, which strives to make the holiday season less stressful for low income families by providing gifts for their children.
This project brightens the holiday for more then 500 children each year. Tree of Sharing is now taking requests for sponsorship. Also, low income families can make an appointment to be placed on the list for gifts.
Families must have a valid Wyoming ID, proof of all income that comes into the home, and have custody of children for the holidays. The deadline for applying is December 2, 2013. Appointments go fast. Anyone interested may call VIRS at 352-6847 or 872-6341.
