SWEETWATER COUNTY — As the COVID-19 response changes, so will the Wyoming Department of Health’s (WDH) updates. The WDH will only update its COVID-19 website data twice a week instead of daily, according to Sweetwater County Public Health.
The change comes after the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) changed its metrics. Governor Mark Gordon is also lifting Wyoming’s COVID-19 Public Health Emergency declaration effective March 14.
The CDC has also updated its COVID-19 recommendations and the metrics it will use to measure the impact of COVID-19 in communities. Details about these metrics and recommendations can be found here.
The WDH is adopting the new CDC metrics and recommendations. Thursday’s publishing of the County Transmission Metrics be discontinued and the CDC metrics will be used. The Wyoming Department of Health’s COVID-19 data will be updated twice a week instead of daily beginning March 11.
The current metrics on the CDC website indicates that community levels are low in Sweetwater County.
