EVANSTON – The Wolves used several bonus-point wins on Wednesday to earn a road victory over conference opponent Evanston, 45-23.

After dropping their first two matches, a pin in 29 seconds by Jordan Tucker got the ball rolling. Following the Tucker win, Gabe Bunderman, Kade Knezovich and Cyro Montoya all scored pins. After a Justin Flores win by forfeit, Gage Byers scored another fall at the 3:05 mark of the match.

After Evanston won the next two at 132 and 138, Kaycee Corchrane responded with a tough 7-3 decision. At 152, Eric Clingenpeel scored the deciding pin at the 1:29 mark. Blake Waite and Payton Tucker both lost close sudden-victory duals that could have went either way.

The Wolves will join most of the state as they head to Riverton this weekend for the Ron Thon Memorial.
