ROCK SPRINGS — Rock Springs Fire Department received a call of structure on fire at 9:59 a.m. on 5-2-2015. The structure was addressed 3200 Elk Street which is the Wyoming Department of Transportation District 3 Headquarters. Three apparatus and nine firefighters arrived on scene at 10:10 a.m.

RSFD found light smoke and an activated sprinkler head. There is damage to the structure from smoke and water. No injuries were reported. The cause was determined to be a malfunction in a vending machine.

District 3 Public Relations Specialist, Stephanie Harsha said, “There was damage to a break room, but it is business as usual. All offices were still functioning on Monday and the break room is still airing it out.”
