SWEETWATER COUNTY — The YWCA of Sweetwater County is excited to announce that planning has begun for the 2014 Celebrating Women of Distinction and High Tea event to be held Saturday, October 4 at the Holiday Inn. The event will include a professionally catered High Tea, light music performed by a local musician, and recognition of Sweetwater County women nominated by their peers, employers, friends and family.
The High Tea began in 2012 by volunteers of the YWCA. The committee has three primary outcomes in mind when planning the event; bring awareness to the YWCA and the services provided, raise funds to assist in the operating costs of delivering such services, and recognize women in Sweetwater County who have made a difference, overcome obstacles and adversity, left a legacy for future generations and serve as mentors to women and girls.
The planning committee continues to seek out supporters who are able to financially contribute to offset the expense of hosting the event. In addition, items for raffle, or auction are welcomed. Memorial and honorarium contributions are being accepted this year for individuals who would like to memorialize a beloved woman who is no longer here or honor an exceptional woman in lieu of a nomination.
The third annual event will be held Saturday, October 4 from 1:30p.m. -4:30p.m. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning on August 4 at Rock Springs and Green River Chambers and the YWCA for $20. If available tickets will be sold at the door.
