GREEN RIVER – The Green River Wolves opened up their passing game on Friday as they did what they needed to do, in order to position themselves for the playoffs. Meanwhile the Wolves defense held Worland to only eight yards on offense in the first half as they took the 48-24 win.
The Wolves struggled to move the ball on the ground, their passing game was a different story. Chance Hofer found a variety of receivers early as he finished with almost 200 yards through the air in the first half. He set the tone early going 3-3 with 50 yards on the opening drive. He capped it with a 19-yard screen to Cole White to put the first points on the board.
White was a big target in the first half but not the only one as Devin Love, Candon Croft and a variety of Wolves were in on the action. Drew Wilson scored his 15th touchdown of the year in the first half, and Hofer also had one on the ground. At the break, it was all  Green River, 42-0.

It was not only the offense that came out big. The defense held Worland scoreless in the first and was highlighted by an interception by Chase Stoeger.
Worland started the second half strong, holding the ball for the first nine minutes. However, the Wolves defense was a little stronger as they would stop the Warriors on fourth down at their own two. With the second string in, a miscommunication led to Worland’s first points on a safety.
The second string struggled as the safety led to 24 unanswered points to start the second half. Hofer returned on special teams and scooped up an onside kick and 44 yards later ended the scoring streak.
The Wolves had 251 yards at the half but struggled in the second half to finish with 270. Hofer finished 203 yards through the air with both White and Love finishing with 75 yards receiving.
