ROCK SPRINGS – Celestino Silvio Flaim, 88, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 at his home. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming and former resident of Tregiovo, Italy, Mr. Flaim passed away following a brief illness.

He was born on May 9, 1925 in Tregiovo, Italy, the son of the late Beniamino Flaim and Melania Eccher. Mr. Flaim attended schools in Italy and attended university in Trento, Italy. He emmigrated from Italy to Rock Springs in August 1948. He married Sofia Flaim in January 1949.

Mr. Flaim worked in facilities maintenance at Questar for thirty-eight years until his retirement in 1987. He also worked many years as a repairman for Jefferis Furniture.

Mr. Flaim was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community, Trentini Nel Mondo, Wyoming, and Knights of Columbus. He provided twenty years of service to “Loaves and Fishes,” and held leadership positions for the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Parish Council. His interests included being an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed skiing, fishing, hunting, and hiking.

Pinedale and the Wind River Range were his playgrounds.

Survivors include four sons Benjamin Flaim and wife Polly of Fredrick, Colorado; David Flaim and wife Susan of Sandy, Utah, Louis Flaim and wife Karen of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Steven Flaim of West Jordan, Utah; one daughter Rita Flaim Larson and husband John of Seattle, Washington; ten grandchildren Meghan Malone, Schaun Flaim, Amy Myers, Theresa Register, Anna Samsel, Peggy Fisher, Nathan Flaim, Erika Kelley, Brendan Larson and Aidan Larson; fifteen great-grandchildren and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Joseph Flaim, his wife Sofia, one brother and three sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Avenue, Rock Springs, Wyoming. A Vigil Service with Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M., Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery, 802 Thompson in Rock Springs.

Friends may call at the church Friday afternoon from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and again on Saturday at the church one prior to services.
