New Year’s Weekend Travel Forecast Remains Sketchy Through Sunday

Travelers should prepare for more poor road conditions through the weekend as another high wind event is forecast for Wyoming beginning Saturday morning.

CHEYENNE — Travelers moving through Wyoming over the New’s Year weekend will want check the forecast often as roads will remain icy with poor visibility through Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Riverton reports that high impact conditions will ease up tonight but leave enough snow and wind to make traveling dangerous around the Cowboy State over the next several days.

Higher elevations and the southeast corner of the state will experience the worst conditions Friday through Sunday. The Wyoming Department of Transportation is alerting motorist to prepare for extreme blow over conditions along Interstates 80 and 25. Watch for blowing snow and another high wind event to hit the I-80 corridor beginning early Saturday morning and continuing through Sunday evening around 6 p.m.
