Rock Springs Main Street/URA announces  June Volunteer of the Month – Tammara Hautala

ROCK SPRINGS – The Organization Committee of the Rock Springs Main Street/URA is pleased to announce their June Volunteer of the Month – Tammara (Tamme) A. Hautala.  During the month of June, Tammara volunteered countless hours helping with the Rods and Rails Car Show and decorating the Main Street/URA Cow for the Fair and Rodeo.  Tammara also sits on the Economic Restructuring committee.

Tammara was born in Lakewood, California but her family moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming in 1972 and this is where she calls home.  She moved away a few times having lived in Sacramento, CA, Denver, CO, and lastly, she spent thirteen years in Tucson, AZ.  She returned home in September of 2010 and couldn’t be happier.

She has two daughters and one grandbaby, all here in Rock Springs.  Tammara’s oldest daughter operates a cleaning business and her younger daughter is a junior in high school where she’s a cheerleader and a member of the health academy.

Tammara is an accountant by trade, having spent the last thirteen plus years working in middle and upper management in the government sector.  Currently, she assists her fiancé operating Lockhart Rentals, a twenty-five unit rental business providing homes to people and their furry family members.

She is the co-treasurer of the Red Desert Humane Society and a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, located in northern North Dakota.  Tammara is also a level two Reiki practitioner and has intentions of obtaining and earning the knowledge of Master Reiki.  She’s very creative and loves the arts. She draws and paints and will try most any craft.  Tammara started a crafting club that has met a couple of times creating holiday wreaths and she has attended other crafting projects sponsored by the Sweetwater County Library System, Brass Googles and Green River Arts Council.

Tammara enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, golfing, going to concerts and traveling.  She added, “I love my friends and family and being able to call Rock Springs home, where people smile, work hard and genuinely care about preserving the simple life.  This is one of the reasons why I enjoy volunteering for Downtown Rock Springs; it promotes local business and provides so many activities and events for our community.  It is a pleasure to get out there and meet the members of our community, both new and old.  And, I hope to continue to help assist in promoting stay and play locally.”

The Rock Springs Main Street/URA is charged with the redevelopment of Downtown Rock Springs.  As part of their mission, there are four standing committees – Economic Restructuring, Organization, Promotions and Design.  The Organization Committee plays a key role in keeping the Board, Committees, staff and programs of work in good shape by attracting people and funds for the organization.  For more information contact the Rock Springs Main Street/URA at 307-352-1434 or visit their website at DowntownRS.com
