ROCK SPRINGS – After an action-packed summer, the Rock Springs Indoor Recreation Department is reminding residents you don’t have to exercise in frigid, icy temperatures. Take advantage of the indoor recreation centers in Rock Springs.

WEE CARE

This summer, the Rock Springs Parks and Recreation Board opened the Wee Care Daycare which staff said was very successful. Winter hours will remain the same from 9 a.m. to Noon. The daycare costs $2.50 per child and a parent or guardian must sign a waiver or rules.

Every child must be signed in and out and parents are responsible for changing diapers and accidents. Parents must stay in the center while their child is at Wee Care. Supervisors will come and get parents if they are needed and cannot give children medication during their time at Wee Care.

The RSFRC can refuse service and also ask for parents not to bring sick children to the daycare. There is no food or drink allowed inside the daycare.

RSFRC Ice Arena and Pool

Indoor Recreation staff said residents can come join us and enjoy a healthier lifestyle!.Please note, the ice arena is not open yet. Our maintenance crew is working to fix some mechanical issues. Stay tuned for a post when it opens.

While the Ice Arena remains closed, the pool at the Rock Springs Family Recreation Center opened today, Oct. 1.

Change to Little Squirts Basketball Registration

The Civic Center Programs Department said they have had a change to Little Squirts Basketball registration. It now begins October 13th. It’s a great 5-week learning camp for all children ages 3 – 6 years-old focusing on the fundamentals of the game and how to play on a team. Fees are $20 per child and the camp begins November 10th.

PiYo is here

PiYo is coming to the RSFRC. PiYo gives hardcore definition, intense calorie burn, and all over strength – without weights, without jumps, and without destroying your body.  This is a high-intensity, low-impact workout that gives full-throttle cardio, strength and flexibility training all at once.  It helps build lean muscle mass as calories are burned.  Our fitness instructors have been hard at work preparing for this new program to start this month.  The first class will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11th.
