ROCK SPRINGS – After a successful marching band season, the Sweetwater County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees honored the Rock Springs High School Marching Band.
Rock Springs High School Marching Band earned the following awards from the Wyoming High School Activities Association and the Wyoming Music Educators Association: A Superior rating, the highest possible rating and Caption Awards for outstanding percussion (drum line) and outstanding brass section (trumpets, trombones, baritones, and tubas).
This year’s superior rating is the second consecutive and second time ever that the marching band has ever earned this rating. The percussion section also earned a Caption Award from the University of Wyoming Invitational, the first time Rock Springs has ever earned an award from this event.
In addition, the three drum majors Kaylee Hardesty, Chancy Lowinske and Kyra Seppie each earned the Outstanding Drum Major Caption Awards. Rock Springs High School Band Instructor Brian Redmond is here representing the Marching Band along with drum majors Kaylee Hardesty, Chancy Lowinske and Kyra Seppie.
