GREEN RIVER — The Sweetwater County School District No. 2 Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday night to approve an application for impact aid monies and request to go out for bid for the Expedition Academy greenhouse construction.
The board will consider authorizing the application for impact aid monies for the 2027 fiscal year. According to Superintendent Scott Cooper, the impact aid money comes from federal lands in the school districts boundaries that do not pay property tax. Board documents state that payments are very small compared to previous years and Congress may not appropriate any dollars for Impact Aid.
Superintendent Cooper is also requesting approval to go out for a bid for the Expedition Academy High School greenhouse project. The request will include all construction components, including the installation of the greenhouse kit and associated concrete work.
The public meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the district office in Green River. The meeting will also be streamed live on the district’s YouTube page. The full agenda can be found here.
