SWEETWATER COUNTY — Every extra dollar helps when it comes to paying for a college education. On Wednesday, Tata Chemical rewarded three hard working students with a total of $6,000 in scholarships during a ceremony held in their honor at Tata Chemicals’ Green River facility.

Each of the Wyoming-based college students is related to an employee with the company, making them eligible for the program.

Launched in 2013, Tata Chemicals’ Wyoming Scholarship Program aims to provide financial assistance to dependents of company employees enrolled at Western Wyoming Community College as students.

This year, for the first time in the program’s history, students attending the University of Wyoming were eligible to apply for the scholarship as well.

Applicants are evaluated based on academic excellence, leadership, goals and aspirations, and are selected by a Review Committee at Tata Chemicals.
