TORRINGTON – It was a back and forth game all night, but two interceptions by James Bunderman and a strong rushing effort by Drew Wilson made the difference.
Green River moved into the semifinals for the second year in a row with a win over Torrington, 27-21.
Wilson finished with 145 yards on the ground, and Chance Hofer threw for 195 yards and two scores as the Wolves move on to face Powell for a spot in the final game. Powell defeated Lander 58-6 Friday night. Both Devin Love and Candon Croft had 80 yards receiving and scores on the night.
Torrington scored first in the first but three plays after the Trailblazers took the lead, Wilson broke a 59-yard run to even the game at 7.

Green River struck again midway through the second. A short screen pass to Candon Croft moved the ball into the red zone. Torrington held forcing Green River to settle for a field goal.
The first of Bunderman’s interceptions set up another score right before half. Bunderman’s pick had the Wolves at the Torrington 21. After taking the ball inside the 10, a penalty stopped the drive. Hofer added his second field goal of the game, and that is where the first half ended with Green River up 13-7.
The Wolves continued to work the ball through the air in the second half. After forcing a Trailblazer punt, Hofer struck again, this time finding Devin Love for 60 yards and another Wolves score. The extra point had Green River up 20-7 early.
With 1:37 left in the third, Torrington went to work and cut the lead to six heading into the final quarter. It was Hofer again using his arm and finding Croft from 20-yard out to extend the lead back to 13. Three plays later, Torrington pulled back within six.
GRHS took over with just over six minutes in the game. Behind five first downs, the Wolves only had ten on the night; Green River ran out the clock to advance.
