Wolves Finish in Second at 3A State Swimming and Diving

LARAMIE — The Green River Wolves competed against the other 3A swimming and diving teams over the weekend in the 2021 3A State Swimming and Diving Championships.

The Wolves had a strong performance in the 1-meter diving. Braxton Cordova was crowned a state champion with a score of 421.20. Teammates River Kirts and Kyle Knight followed behind in second and fourth place respectively.

Green River recorded six top three finishes out of the 12 events at the meet. The Wolves’ relay teams performed well, taking third in the 200-yard free relay and second in the 400-yard free relay. In addition, Brady Young, Elijah Kraft and Jason Richmond all had strong performances in their events.

Overall, the Wolves took second place scoring 202 points as a team. They finished behind a talented Lander team who won their 25th consecutive state championship.
