ROCK SPRINGS — Wyoming Machinery Company, Wyoming’s Caterpillar® dealership, which opened a location in Rock Springs in April 2012, recently made a donation to Western Wyoming Community College’s Technology & Industry program totaling $10,000. The contribution included $5,000 from Wyoming Machinery and a $5,000 match from the CAT Foundation.

Carl Lembke and several of his colleagues from the company’s Rock Springs and Casper locations presented the check to WWCC Community Relations Director David Tate and Instructor of Diesel Technology Stephen Sanders. The donation will be used to support scholarships for T&I students studying diesel and heavy-equipment technology at Western.

“It’s dollars that Wyoming Machinery Co. and Caterpillar are able to give as a result of dealer excellence, which is a rating we get from Caterpillar,” Lembke said. “We’re sure happy to be able to partner with the college and the community to develop technicians and resources locally. That is by far the best way to do it, rather than trying to bring folks in from afar. We have better luck with locally grown resources. It’s definitely the best solution for us to have local folks stay local.”
