SWEETWATER COUNTY — The Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners will consider approving a letter supporting the rescission of a 2021 U.S. Department of Agriculture rule that could result in more motorized trails and roads in Wyoming forests.
The letter comes after the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced it would consider removing the rule that Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins alleges has been a barrier to wildfire risk reduction in the nation’s national forests.
Additionally, the commissioners will be updated on local fire restrictions. Fire Warden Alan Adams will speak with the commissioners, though no information about what the update will entail was provided on the county’s agenda.
The commissioners will also consider a contract with Alpha Facilities Solutions for a facilities condition assessment on county-owned buildings.
The commissioners meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Sweetwater County Courthouse in Green River. The meeting will be streamed on the county’s YouTube channel. A full agenda can be found here.
