Gas Prices Nearing $4 a Gallon in Sweetwater County and Wyoming

SWEETWATER COUNTY — Wyoming’s average price for regular unleaded gasoline reached $3.987 per gallon Thursday, which is an increase of 48 cents from just a week ago, according to data reported by American Automobile Association (AAA).

Gas prices are continuing to raise daily with a national average of $4.318 per gallon for regular unleaded. Wyoming’s average price is 33 cents lower than the national average as of Thursday. Last month, the state average price for regular unleaded gasoline was $3.366, which is 62 cents lower than the current average.

Sweetwater County sits among the middle of the pack for gas prices by county in Wyoming with an average of $3.983 per gallon. Platte County has the highest price for regular unleaded gas in Wyoming with an average of $4.271 per gallon, which is just over 28 cents higher than in Sweetwater County. This means Wyoming’s highest priced gas sits at about 4 cents lower than the national average.

Sheridan County has the lowest priced gas in the state with an average of $3.721 per gallon of regular unleaded. That’s 26 cents lower than prices in Sweetwater County.

The average price for mid-grade gasoline in Wyoming is currently $4.192 compared to $3.578 a month ago. For premium gasoline, the average price in the state is $4.436 per gallon compared to $3.838 a month ago. As of today, the price for diesel is an average of $4.683 per gallon compared to $3.800 a month ago.
