UPDATE 10:16 a.m. According to John Gleason who is the ‎Public Information Officer at Utah Department of Transportation a semi carrying batteries hit debris and blew his brake lines and then was rear-ended by a semi carrying barrels of oil. The fire is still smoldering due to the high heat burn of the batteries. EB I-80 has one lane closed, WB I-80 is still fully closed. The UDOT shed from the area is on the scene assessing damage and hopes to have one lane of WB I-80 open soon.

EVANSTON — The Wyoming Department of Transportation is reporting that I80 westbound is closed at Evanston due to a border state request. John Gleason of the Utah Detartment of Transportation told SweetwaterNOW that the request was due to a major truck fire.  We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
