“None of us have the time to head to Washington, D.C. for a national march. Why not do our own walk?” said Jenny Boteler, organizer for the event.

The purpose is to develop an awareness of issues that women face on a daily basis and stand with all women in their pursuit of equality.

“We want this to be more than just a walk,” said Boteler. “It’s the beginning of creating a network of people.”

After the walk, there will be several speakers on women’s issues and a panel discussion led by Dr. Jessica Clark. A reception will follow.

Men are invited and encouraged to attend. People can come for all or part of the events that day. The event is meant to be apolitical and not aligned with any political camp.

The event is hosted by Jenny Boteler, Bernadine Craft, Kay Grice, Judith Wascher, Diana Wiig, and B.O.C.E.S.
