It’s time to come together with our neighbors as we raise fund for those affected by last month’s monsoon rainfall.
The Rockin’ from the Rain concert and fundraiser will take place on Sunday, August 22nd at the Sweetwater Events Complex. The event starts at 2 p.m. and there will be a $5 admission fee.
“On July 28, 2021, a monsoon storm ravaged the Rock Springs area causing devastating flash flooding and severely damaging numerous homes in the area. Tragically, due to the nature of the damages, and due to it being a flood, none of these damages will be covered by homeowner’s insurance policies. The City of Rock Springs has reached out to FEMA to see if there is any type of funds but, unfortunately, at this point, it is not looking favorable for any type of relief funds to be distributed from them.
As the people of Sweetwater County have demonstrated so many times in the past, coming together in a collective effort can make a real difference in people’s lives when facing hardships. With this being said, a fundraising benefit and concert have been put in place to help relieve a portion of the costs that the storm inflicted on our fellow citizens. Along with the concert, there will be food trucks, adult beverages, and many family activities.
It is our goal to reach out to as many citizens, businesses, and groups for donations to help with the families who have been devastated by this loss.
T-shirts are in the process of being created and major donors will have the opportunity to have their
name placed on the back of the shirt. We have partnered with the City of Rock Springs so all checks can be made to the City of Rock Springs, mailed, or taken to the City Hall at the address below. Most importantly, all donators will receive a tax receipt of their donation since we will have a 501C3 status in our affiliation with the City of Rock Springs.
We sincerely appreciate your consideration and donation!
Rockin’ From the Rain Committee“
