GREEN RIVER – Administrators at Sweetwater County School District No. 2 are reminding residents about the summer food program to help feed children in the district.
Recenly, the Food Banks of Sweetwater County asked for help from the public. In its request, they explained with children home from school, demands on low income area families to provide food increases.
Sweetwater County School District No. 2 reminded residents in the district there are free food opportunities for children and teens over the summer.
The program provides food for children ages 3 to 18-years-old. There is no application to fill out and no registration to participate.
Jackson Elementary, located at 2200 E. Teton Blvd in Green River provides this service Monday through Friday from June 1 to August 7. The lunch program at Jackson started on June 1 and is served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Breakfast was offered starting on June 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
The program also takes place at 1400 Bridger Avenue in the Community Room in Green River. At this location the program started on July 1 and will run until Aug. 28. Food is provided Mondays. Wednesdays and Fridays.
